014: Lovecraft and Call of Cthulhu Actual Play Episode: 000

012: Zephyr Smorgasbord

Episode 12

Out of Space Games had the opportunity to demo an upcoming board game called Zephyr: Winds of Change from The Portal Dragon, and have plenty of thoughts and feedback, including a live session with one of the game's creators!  We move from there to digital card games and Hearthstone before diving back into deck building games, starting with an odd one called Barbarossa.  We end with some discussion regarding the newly released Journey: Wrath of Demons from Marrow Production.  No overall theme for this episode, but there's plenty of content and topics.

009: Comic Con in Space

San Diego Comic-Con was last week, so we take the opportunity to talk about all the new trailers and movie news from the show including Marvel, DC, zombies, and Star Wars.  Don't worry, we also spend some time discussing gaming as we finally sit down to play some 'outer space' themed board games, giving impressions of Chaosmos and Star Trek: Fleet Captains.  We also talk about board game news with the weird release of Magic the Gathering: Arena of the Planeswalkers and the upcoming Attack on Titan board game.  Next time, we are back with a plethora of board games as we get excited for Gen-Con.  Thanks for listening!

008: Jurassic Nostalgia

Episode 8

It's the summer of nostalgia with a ton of movies and games hearkening back to our favorite childhood memories.  This week, the Out of Space Crew talks nostalgic board games, video games, and movies, along with some historic Kickstarter news.  We start with E3 announcements of an FF7 remake and Shenmue 3 along with a Fallout and Halo sequel before moving to the blockbuster movies of Jurassic World and Mad Max: Fury Road.  Of course we squeeze in board games as well, looking back at an old Lost World Board Game, and rewind a few years as the FTC has just ruled on an early Kickstarter scam with The Doom that Came to Atlantic City, and finally discuss the newly launched Zombicide: Black Plague.  Our longest episode yet, but packed full of gaming goodness.  Thanks for listening!

The Out of Space Crew is together for the first time, with Sean finally in town from the west coast.  In Episode 4, we talk about cooperative board games, ranging from the disaster classics Pandemic and Flash Point to dice rolling with Elder Sign, Arkham Horror, and the infamous D-Day Dice.  We round out the discussion with some Ghost Stories action as well as some xenomorph talk as we take on Legendary Encounters: An Alien Deckbuilding Game.
